“Our beloved diva, Agnes Geneva, gave a wonderful perform with the anthem ‘Trans and Proud’ – a powerful song that connects us all.
The Light Ceremony - Deputy Mayor Touria Meliani, along with Kalki, Yvo, Rubi, and Jean, came to the stage to light a candelabra. This act symbolizes unity, resilience, and the shared dedication to gender justice and equality.

Dragking LatinX Charm (Patri) – Dragshow
LatinX Charm is a drag king, musician, artist and community-builder. He is one of the founding members of House of Løstbois. House of Løstbois is an Amsterdam-based drag king collective that grew out of a drag king academy. What initially began as creative research on gender, led to much more: a community, a support system, a family. Trans Joy is part of LatinX Charm’s dragtivism his act called Trans Future. He gave a wonderful and powerfull performing.
Suzanne van der Laar chair Pride Amsterdam – Speech
Our next guest is a true pioneer and a well-known figure within the LGBTQIA+ community. Suzanne van de Laar is a photographer who previously volunteered with TransAmsterdam. She has served as the chair of Winterpride in Almere, was one of the founders of the first trans pride crosswalk in Almere, and was crowned the first Miss Leather Netherlands in 2019. Suzanne is an ambassador for Pride Amsterdam, a council member for the city of Almere, and the partner of a trans person. Today, she joins us as the chair of Pride Amsterdam and gave TransAmsterdam on behalf of Pride Amsterdam a donation of 2500 euro.

On 15 november 2024 at our TransAmsterdam’s 10th Anniversary we honor an extraordinary leader, a true pioneer in the fight for gender equality. Yvo Manuel Vas Dias, the visionary founder of TransAmsterdam, has dedicated countless hours to advocating for the rights and visibility of the trans community in Amsterdam the Netherlands.
Yvo’s unwavering commitment to social justice has inspired so many to embrace their true selves, without fear or prejudice. Through his tireless work, he has created a safe and inclusive space for art and creativity where the trans community can truly thrive.
But Yvo’s impact extends far beyond Amsterdam. His influence has sparked global conversations on gender identity and expression, and through his leadership, he’s helped shape a more equitable and compassionate society.
For his extraordinary contributions, his resilient spirit, and his relentless pursuit of justice, it is our honor to present Yvo Manuel Vas Dias with the Gender Justice King Award from the Sahodari Foundation, India. The award is presented by Sahodari Foundation’s Founder Director Kalki Subramaniam.

Her work is a testament to the power of art and literature to question norms and spark social change. Kalki has given voice to the marginalized, celebrated gender diversity, and fought for a world where everyone can be their authentic selves.
One of the pivotal moments in India’s history—the Supreme Court’s recognition of trans persons as a third gender—owes much to activists like Kalki. Her commitment to legal recognition has helped create a more inclusive society.

During our celebration, several artists performed, and everyone enjoyed the unique performances, performers, and diverse music styles:
David Brown Engelhard & Jean Leon Bijker – Jazz with improvisations on tenor saxophone, taking the audience into a world of musical magic.
Chayden Richie – A powerful hip-hop and rap performance, delivering messages of strength and equality through his lyrics and energy.
Grayson Libowski & Lost Age – Acoustic indie rock, full of energy and emotion, creating a special musical experience for the audience.
Agnes Geneva – An unforgettable closing vocal performance, where her powerful voice and presence perfectly concluded the evening.

The evening ended on a high note with an electrifying set by our DJs, bringing everyone to the dance floor to celebrate.
